Why This Resource Exists
Michigan law provides routes to many public arrest and booking records, but the records are split among agencies. The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office creates and maintains county jail records. Michigan Department of Corrections OTIS covers sentenced prisoners and people on state supervision. Courts hold arraignments and later case outcomes. When no public search answers the question, a specific Michigan Freedom of Information Act request can seek an existing record from the office that maintains it. This site organizes those official routes and explains their different roles without republishing booking photos.
